Snowmen Peeps: Vintage 2001

So, my friend from Buffalo who keeps the Peeps opened in his wine cellar came down last week and pulled out a baggie with a lone snowman in it.

It was a snowman from 2001- the first year they made them. It was even better than the usual stale peeps I eat. It had been open since 2001 and was very hard but chewy at the same time. Awesome!

He still hasn't sent me the photos of his Peeps Cellar or the international Peeps, but he says he will soon.

Tomorrow starts a new after-Easter Peeps sale. Time to buy them at 50-75% off regular prices and stock up. :)

About 8 years ago when I was in the house music scene heavy, a friend gave me my first box of white bunny peeps. I made earrings out of them by painting them with clear nail polish. I wore them to the End Up in SF and everyone loved them...that's my fond memory of peeps!

Yes, but before you get too excited, the only thing Halloweenie about them is that they are orange.

Still, I can think of a few tricks to do with orange Peeps (like use them as roadblocks/signage/road workers for your miniature train set......um......ok so I am chuckling all by myself. But that is what happens when I think about Peeps, I can't help it ;P

I don't know if it shows properly on all youse guys' monitors, but because I used pink and purple Peeps to make those things, that batch of Treets came out a most fetching lavender color. And boy could you taste the Peep flavors all the way through!

Favorite things to do with Peeps...

Hi!
I'm new to the list, but not new to the Way of the Peep. I've been a Peepoligist for most of my life, as I was raised in a peep-friendly household.
So...what are your fav things to do with peeps? I like to stick them in the microwave for a bit and watch them get really HUGE and then shrink down to normal and then stick them in again. It can be hours of entertainment.
Oh, and I like to eat 'em. Stale is best. :)

I am afriad to say it, but I had a dream about Peeps. It was an inconsequential dream, really, but still. Dreaming about Peeps?!?! Give me a break! I hate the things!

Anyhow, the dream was nothing. Just that Peeps now came in the shape of Sheep. And I ate one. Hum.

It's an old campfire game. When everyone has had their fill of toasted marshmellows, you play "chubby bunny" with the leftovers.

Here's how the game works: you put a marshmellow in your mouth. You say "chubby bunny". You put another marshmellow in your mouth. You say "chubby bunny". Keep going until you spit up, choke, or run out of marshmellows. The one who can say "chubby bunny" with the most marshmellows in their mouth, wins.

Here's an idea for a new spin on an old tradition: Chubby Peep!

Peep eating contest

I just uploaded a picture I took last weekend at the Mike the Headless Chicken Days festivities in Fruita, Colorado.

They had a hillarious contest in which people tried to eat as many 4-packs of peeps as possible in 30 seconds. Unfortunately, I missed getting pictures of the people that had stuffed 3 packs in their mouths at once (or at least mostly in their mouths) and were trying to get them chewed enough to eat more.

Original Peep Costumes?

I have thought about being a Peep Kebab for Halloween before.

I would dress up in a uni, and put Peeps on my arms (like floaties), wrap two around my knees, wear a hat with an extension at the top and of course put a Peep at the top. I could also wear Peep shoes.

Man I'd be the hottie of the party. Everyone would want to take me home.
